Paint Correction

  • What is Paint Correction?

There are many types of unsightly defects that can lead to your vehicle needing paint correction. The most typical types of damage include swirl marks, micro marring and 3-D holograms. All of these defects slightly etch your vehicles clear coat radically affecting the way it reflects light. When your car is parked in direct sunlight or under strong lighting these flaws become immediately evident leaving your paintwork looking tired even if its perfectly clean. No amount of washing or waxing can solve this.

Paint correction is the process used to by detailers to remedy this undesirable effect. Using a rotary polisher and various grades of abrasive compounds, we gently yet effectively remove ultra fine layers of clear or top coat. The severity of the damage determines how much clear coat should be removed – sometimes as fine as a human hair or until a fresh unmarred surface is exposed.

Your paintwork is constantly under attack and over time can become dull and lifeless. A combination of factors act on your vehicles paintwork robbing it of clarity and lustre. Whether by natural causes such as acid rain, UV damage or as a result of damage incurred during regular washing and polishing routines, the consequences of this is a paint finish which both refracts and diffuses light minimising depth and reflection.

But do not worry this is a reversible process. During our correction procedure they key factors which cause this premature aging of your paint are eradicated resurrecting its natural beauty. This process re-levels the top coat restoring clarity and allows light to be dispersed uniformly from the paint surface at any given angle, in some cases leaving it in better condition than the day your vehicle left the factory.
